REVIEW FOR NO TRIX and our NEXT ALL DNB SHOW.

This will be a short review and thank you shout outs.  1st ill say it was 1/2 my show so i may be partial to the event but ill be as honest as i can.  The set ups were both BANGING! the log2 sound is a given to rock a party right and i dont know why more people dont use them.. aside from being the 2nd biggest expense in the show... its worth it and i can tell it is by the looks and smiles on the ravers faces when they seen the bass bins ready to rock.  Big thanks to M1D1 for setting it all up, He is the guy that is in charge of our stage decor, ideas get bounced around and he attempts to execute it with in budget. Over all id give the show a 8, big up to three jay and his crew, big ups to adam, nelson, justin, tak, oscar, and every one else for helping make this show possible.  The crowd was just enough to make the party fun who ever missed it really missed a good production, Im pretty sure the 20 dollar cover was a factor.. on a side note, I am never going to do a 20 dollar show again.. im going to do 10-15 dollar shows only, yes the line up might suffer or not be as good if we charged 20 but i dont want to my show to cost as much as a pill for a gram of good weed.... i know how rare it is for people to spend 20 bucks on enjoyment... lol.. any way at this point we are still in the education process and teaching the crowds the power a good dj has over the room and the value of that is higher than we can charge atm.  Our next show is December 17 and its called PLANET BASS.  Im resurrecting the event in the name of DRUM N BASS, PLANET BASS was the 1st big show i was ever involved with and i feel its time to bring it back with the sound that properly represents the name of the planet we all visit on the weekends.

KRSP discovered his love for jungle drum n bass in the late 90s by way of an online radio show. He began to collect music and went through every style of jungle drum n bass until he found tek-step. His style has been described at some of the hardest drum n bass you ever heard by promoters in KC and his selections and mixing skill are on point. With over 10 years under his belt as a dj it shows when you hear him live as he moves through styles while staying true to the harder sound that he is known for.

His name is synonymous with Chicago drum n bass and one of Americas largest drum n bass music groups the M.I.A. (murda In america) with over 50+ members all over the country. Since the early 90's Alfonz has been djing and promoting jungle/drum n bass music. He has played along side the worlds best drum n bass djs including Andy C, Ed Rush & Optical, Black Sun Empire, Concord Dawn, DJ Swamp, Aphrodite, Bad Company, Krs One, Evol Intent, Gein, Ewun. He has headlined all over the country and has played marquee nights such as Respect in Los Angeles and the original Konkrete Jungle at the pyramid in New York City. In Chicago you can find him once a month at subfix Thursdays at Smartbarchicago.com where he hosts his monthly M.I.A. drum n bass event featuring Chicago's brightest drum n bass artist on a truly sick Funktion one sound rig. With numerous productions under his belt, a very busy dj schedule and a new mix released every 2-3 months alfonz has gained a nice following anywhere the internet is available. His drum n bass mixes are on rotation in several over seas radio stations most recently in New Zealand on loco fm 107fm, his events in Chicago exceed what any one thought a full on drum n bass rager could be like, the energy is high just like the temperature in room, care of the bass heads that are packed on the dance floor moving to the 99.9% drum n bass music pumping out of the speakers. His night at Smart Bar is the Longest running drum n bass night in Chicago with over 150 dedicated attendees every month that come to Smart bar (voted Chicago's best club several times) and expect to hear Alfonz De La Mota and the M.I.A. crew's big bass lines melt their faces. M1D1 first started djing in 1993 and has performed at countless underground parties and full scale raves in Chicago's late 90's rave scene. Working with jungle vet R.P. Smack/RipeProductions, M1D1 continued to bring his music into the new millennium and by 1999 he had started writing his own tunes. In 2004 he started his own DNB label, Combat Records, and with over 40+ releases to date Combat Reco...rds is home many M1D1 releases and also to many great dnb artists worldwide. In 2006, alongside Alfonz DeLaMota, M1D1 co-founded the M.I.A. Dj Collective, a nationwide drum and bass dj collective. With residences all over the US, the M.I.A. is proving to be a strong force in the stateside DNB movement today. Be it djing out of town, here in Chicago at Smartbar, or running the system at the rave, for M1D1 DNB is a way of life, and he will stop at nothing to see the M.I.A. and drum and bass reach its highest potential.

Dj Oracle has been a face and name involved in drum n bass for some time now. An established producer and dj with a love for the darker styles Oracle has released music on several labels under several names and as part of collaborations with other artist on other styles of music. Oracle comes with a flare all his own and you never can tell what will come out of the speakers. All you can expect is that it will be mixed well and it will be full or original songs as well as exclusives and remixes.

MF and DJ Ciro have been spinning jungle drum n bass since the mid 1990's. They were also promoters that pulled in some nice crowds for some of the UKs biggest dnb artist. MF was a resident at several big raves in Chicago and played to massive crowds and DJ Ciro also made lots of moves in the club scene pulling off some impressive sets through out his career. On this night we bring them back together to see what kind of ruckus they can mix up.
